Testimonials
We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to train with Heather in agility. Since we started working with her a couple years ago, our dog's confidence as well as our own in handling him has greatly increased. She constantly challenges us to improve our handling skills while keeping the class fun for both the dogs and the handlers. Heather is able to easily explain alternate approaches to a difficult series of obstacles, and gives everyone in the class specialized instruction to help with specific problems each team may have. The courses we train on in class are challenging and help us to better prepare for both AKC and NADAC trials. Her devotion to Border Collie Rescue and the concern she has for the health and well being of all dogs is truly inspiring.

Thank you SO much for spending such a long time at my house working with Patti and helping to educate me. Your in depth knowledge of Border Collies is amazing! Your handling of Patti was also! It was such a joy to see her enjoying all that she was doing! I can tell she became comfortable with you, and that is also great. You have found your calling! You are a fantastic trainer and are great with her (and me too!). I can tell she really likes you! :-) That is great to see.

Heather is an excellent agility trainer across a variety of venues--AKC, CPE, NADAC. She takes a personal interest in the dogs (and handlers!) to identify any quirks and work through trouble spots. Heather goes out of her way to be sure everyone is LEARNING, as well as provides opportunities for demonstration purposes.

I think Heather is a fabulous trainer. I am a student of Heather's and have taken agility and tricks classes with her for the last 3 years and with 3 different dogs. Even in a group setting, Heather can quickly assess the needs of the handlers and dogs to give you individual and personal advice on what to work on, so both you and your dog are successful. Her expertise in positive training is clearly evident in the instruction she gives handlers. She stays abreast of the latest techniques in training dogs for agility and shares these with her students immediately. However, her expertise also lies in her ability to discern true advances in agility training techniques that produce positive results from those that may lead to undesirable behaviors on the course. Heather has definitely helped me to become more confident in my ability as a handler.

Heather has an excellent knowledge of training techniques and agility, and is a real dog person. She knows her stuff and is great at being able to transfer her knowledge to her students and the dogs. My sheltie Summer and I have been taking agility courses with Heather for only about a year and a half, yet we were able to attend the CPE National Agility Trials and took a First Place in one event. I would highly recommend her for anyone interested in agility training.
Heather just has a natural ability to work with dogs. In agility, she can get dogs in the class to perform and run courses that they would not do for their owners. Then Heather works on teaching those skills and techniques so that both owners and dogs improve. Her tips and techniques really make a difference in trials and competitions.
My sheltie and I have really enjoyed taking agility classes with Heather. She's not only very knowledgeable but makes the classes and competitions fun. Her classes provide the right balance between serious work and making sure both the handler and the dog have some fun while learning.

Heather is an amazing instructor. She is very positive and motivates me to consistently strive for better. She has helped me immensely with a very shy soft rescue dog that I wanted to give up on. Because of her constant encouragement and positive training methods, I have a very happy successful agility partner!

Heather is an amazing person and a great dog trainer. She cares about all of the dogs well being as they were her own and doesn't mind going extra mile to help with whatever we or our dog struggle with. Overall, she is very committed to her job and you can always count on her.

For the last 2 years my border collie Lucy and I have been taking agility classes, obedience training and tricks classes with Heather Haggerty. Lucy has since earned her Canine Good Citizen Award, has been certified as a therapy dog and has won 7 agility titles. Not only is Heather very knowledgeable about positive animal training but she makes classes fun for both the dog and handler.

My Sheltie Bailey and I have been training with Heather since August 2008, starting out in the Beginners Class then two Intermediate sessions and most recently the Advanced class. The attention that Heather shows to each of the dogs and handlers is amazing. She is quickly able to assess both the dog and handler's ability and adjusts her training style accordingly. Heather's training is happy and upbeat with close attention to the fine details that will help to create a great performance in the Agility ring. Heather's helpful suggestions and encouragement prompted me to keep working hard. She creates real team atmosphere between the dog/handler as well as the other students in her class.
Heather's training has created such a unique bond between Bailey and me that we recently began training with Bailey's little sister, Tara. The three of us look forward to continuing training with Heather and having much success in the Agility ring.
